The CIMAP Library and Knowledge Resource Centre situated in Gyan Surbhi block in first floor of CIMAP provides immediate reference, reading and counter transaction facilities for divisions like Agronomy, Biotechnology, Chemical Sciences, Crop Protection, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Tissue Culture, Plant Biology, Technology and Business Development, Information and Communication etc. The electronic resources are open to the institute staff on the Intranet library server. Library having rich collection approx 9,000 reference books, 18,000 Back Volumes and 200 National and International High Impact factor Journals. In addition of library having more than two thousands (2000) online electronic journals by National Knowledge Resource Consortium (NKRC), New Delhi from various publishers as Springer, Wiley, Oxford University Press , Taylor and Francis, Royal Society of Chemistry, Nature main journal ,Emerald and IEEE. SciFinder services are also continuing for the institute scientists, research scholar etc. to up-to-date the latest research in the science with support from NKRC-NISCAIR, New Delhi Library continued to support the R&D activities of the institute approximate 100 Scientist, 250 research scholar, 65 technical staff and other users time to time by offering various services such as acquisition of knowledge resources in the form of books and learned periodicals, current awareness service, reprography support to internal as well as outside visitors, lending and borrowing of research documents under Inter Library Loan. In order to extend the services and dissemination the information electronically, library is moving towards automation of library. To start with, library has initiated Current Content service for its scientists and acquired five international electronic databases. The E-access of on line journals made available by CSIR e-journal consortium was maintained. The internet accessibility to more than six (6) users simultaneously in User’s Bay was also maintained. Library works as a Knowledge Resource Centre in the Institute and provide all the desired information to the scientists, research scholar, technical staff users etc. time to time. Previous Next
